The meeting in Abuja brought together officials from NFF, NPFL, and IMG to discuss strategies for revitalizing Nigerian football. Key areas include enhancing league structures, media rights, talent development, and leveraging football’s economic potential.

According to NFF Vice President Gbenga Elegbeleye, the collaboration signals “a new era for Nigerian football, with opportunities for growth and innovation.” The meeting also emphasized cross-industry collaboration to boost the sport’s sustainability.

This partnership builds on IMG’s extensive experience managing international sports properties, including the Africa Cup of Nations’ media rights.

IMG’s involvement is expected to introduce cutting-edge marketing, sponsorship, and audience engagement strategies to elevate Nigeria’s football ecosystem.

The collaboration is set to unfold over the coming months, with both teams engaging in further discussions to implement their shared vision.

As Okocha remarked, “This is not just about football; it’s about redefining Nigeria’s sporting narrative on a global stage.”
