Coach Odigie, while downplaying the importance of his personal feelings, emphasized the significance of the team’s ability to secure a crucial win.
He commended the players for their relentless effort throughout the match, acknowledging the challenges posed by a resilient Lobi Stars side.
Odigie stated, “I am happy for the team, for being able to get the goal in the game, and how I feel is not important this time around. What is important is that the team has been able to play and win a game.”
Reflecting on the tactical decision to bring on Junior Osaghae for Evans Ogbonna, Odigie highlighted the strategic aspect of coaching.
He explained, “It’s a tactical thing so he came in to get the goal. I’m happy for him and I’m happy for the team. Like I said, we just want to keep getting better in every game we play.”

Addressing questions about the club’s future trajectory, Coach Odigie humbly acknowledged that he doesn’t have the power to determine the club’s destination.
Instead, he emphasized the need to focus on continuous improvement and hard work. Odigie likened football to an interesting and unpredictable sport, urging fans to support their team through thick and thin.
He stated, “All I have to do is keep working on the team. Football is an interesting sport. Please come and watch. If you support your team, either good or bad.
The fans in the EPL cry whenever their team goes to relegation, they are still cheering for their team. All I’m saying is that we’ll keep working. God knows where the team will go.”
As Bendel Insurance celebrates their narrow victory, Coach Odigie remains grounded, and committed to the team’s growth and success in the ongoing NPFL season.
