The new Anambra FA Chairman Mr Chikelue Iloenyoesi in his first official outing outside of the state in the capacity of his new office was a guest to his counterpart from Kano, Sharif Rabiu Inuwa at the Football Fiesta organized by the state FA.
The General who arrived Kano on Friday was among top Footbal stakeholders in the country to be invited to the big occasion that bid to promote the game at the grassroot level in Kano state. That Friday saw the opening ceremony of the Ahlan Unity cup at the Sani Abacha stadium. The same venue saw the closing ceremony of Ahlan League II on Saturday. The Ahlan League I also got underway on Sunday while today being Monday will see the start of the Ahlan League II with a befitting opening ceremony that will mark the end of the 4 day football fiesta in the ancient city.
According to Mr Iloenyoesi, activities like this will spur him on to do great things in his state as he showered praises on the FA Chairman of Kano state, Alhaji Sharif Rabi’u Inuwa Ahlan for his giant strides in the state.
”Ahlan has done and is still doing great for football in Kano state. I am here to felicitate with him and learn one or two things from his wealth of experience. If you look, everybody that is anybody in Nigerian football is here to give him tremendous and unflinching support. The legacy of these events will last longer in this ancient city of Kano.”
Among top shots in Nigerian football, alongside Chikelue Iloenyoesi that graced the big occasion in Kano were NFF Second Vice President, Mallam Shehu Dikko, Chairman of Chairmen and NFF executive board member Alh. Ibrahim Musa Gusau, Technical Committee Chairman of NFF and Niger state FA Chairman, Alh. Ahmed Yusuf Fresh, Borno FA Chairman Alh. Babagana Kalli, Nasarawa FA Chairman, Alh. Muhammad Alkali.
Others include, Ondo FA Chairman, Otunba Dele Ajayi, FA Chairman of Benue state Hon. Margret Icheen, Taraba FA Chairman, Timothy Heman, Plateau state FA Chairman, Sunday Longbap, Sabo Abdullahi Dutse of Jigawa state, Patrick Paschal of Bauchi state, Abba Muktar of the FCT, Nasiru Sa’id of Sokoto state among other top dignitaries.
