Heading into the game, the Ibadan-based team, led by Coach Olusesan Ogundele, had recorded one win, one draw, and one loss. Meanwhile, BE Arena FA had endured a tough start, losing all three of their previous matches.

The closely contested encounter saw BE Arena FA hold their ground until the second half when they conceded two late goals. Sarafadeen Alli opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Rokeeb Bolarinwa sealed the victory for Ilaji FC.

Expressing his emotions after the match, Coach Ogundele shared his thoughts:

“I feel excited and relieved. We performed well, even though the first half wasn’t great. However, in the second half, we played with more purpose and determination. We showed that we wanted to win, which is crucial.”

Rokeeb Bolarinwa was named the TSM Man of the Match (MOTM), an award sponsored by Trailblazer Sport Management.

With this victory, Ilaji FC moves up to 6th place on the 2025 DSL S1 table with seven points. Their next challenge will be against Immaculate FC on Friday, April 4, 2025.
