The captain of Ikorodu City FC of Lagos, Wale Oyedeji, has set his mind on getting a deal with either Borussia Dortmund or Bayern Munich of Germany in the near future.

He stated as much on Sunday evening at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, few seconds after helping his side win the Lagos State FA Cup for the second year running.
Goals by Harrison Austin and Tosin Oyedokun helped Coach Bright Ozegbagbei’s side eke out a 2-0 win against Inter Lagos to retain the trophy they also won at the same venue last year, much to the delight of their ambitious captain.
Oyedeji stated afterwards that he was happy winning the trophy for the second time and confessed that the achievement has inspired him to start thinking of taking his career overseas.
The soft-spoken lad retorted: “It was a fantastic game. It was tough, and we struggled at the beginning before we got our first goal.
“But, after our second goal, the game was balanced. The better side won, and we are happy that we got the victory.
“The motivation behind our victory is training well, working hard and being consistent. If you train hard, you last longer on the field.
“This is my second FA Cup victory. So, my next target is for me to get a trial abroad … so that I can showcase myself to the world. I am looking ahead and far, not just here in Nigeria.
“I don’t have any particular foreign team in mind, but I believe that I can start from somewhere good. From there, I will then have a clearer picture for my career abroad.
“I like the German league, because they play good football. I like Dortmund and Bayern Munich.”
He, however, admitted that his focus for now is helping Ikorodu City gain promotion in the domestic league and stage a bold challenge in order to become winners of this year’s Nigeria Federation Cup.
