The President of Island All-Stars Sports Club (IASC), Ikenna Maduagwu has declared emphatically that his group is the fastest growing of its kind in sub-Saharan Africa.
Maduagwu declared as much in an interview with sports247.ng on the sidelines of the club’s ongoing recreational football competition, tagged Achievers Cup 2024.

Following the first two weekends of action in the vastly exciting competition, Maduagwu pointed out that variations in results show that all the matches are keenly contested.
While ruling out any form of favouritism or stage managed results, Ikenna Maduagwu added that the matches also confirm the values of cooperation and togetherness.
He stated with sheer delight, “It all goes to show that football is nothing but a team game.
“All you need to do is get your act together, and you begin to pull in good results.
“Anyway, all in all, we want to continue saying congratulations to all of us. It’s one competition, one cup and one love … from all of us at one club.”
He then gave a breakdown of the club’s current membership roster as well as details in the process of registration.
“To be a member of Island All Stars Sports Club, all you need do is to first show your interest.
“You then move a notch further and procure your membership form. Fill it, submit it, and then go for our screening exercise.
“Once you are given a clean bill of health, you will be adequately inducted. Terms and conditions of all fees will then apply accordingly.
“Our induction fee has gone up, but our current membership is in excess of 400 financial members and still growing.
“That’s why we pride ourselves as the fastest growing sports club in the entire sub-Saharan Africa,” the IASSC boss disclosed.
He concluded by giving plaudits to one of Nigeria’s leading financial institutions for annually sponsoring the football competition that is officially known as IASC/Providus Bank Achievers Cup.
While hailing the bank’s untiting efforts, Maduagwu expressed enthusiasm that Achievers Cup will continue expanding and grow with many years to come.
“Year in, year out, we are very grateful to Providus Bank for their belief and support in this club.
“The relationship has been mutually beneficial, and we hope to keep the partnership going … even as we continue growing together,” Ikenna Maduagwu projected.
