Head coach of FC Ramond International, Akewushola Lateef has cried out that poor officiating spoiled his team’s unbeaten run in the ongoing Ikeja league championship.
Yaweh soul academy hammered Ramond boys 2-0 to stop their unbeaten run in the league.
With this defeat FC Ramond International just lost a match out of six matches played so far.
Lateef in a chat with Sports247 said his boys did their best but they alleged the center referee and the two assistants for biased officiating.
“I think the problem we are encountering in the championship as regards officiating should be looked into by the organizers. Our match against Yaweh soul started late and it was the only referee without assistants who came to officiate the game. When we observed that the officiating was not good, we stopped the game and complained that he could not handle this match alone until he then gave us two assistants to assist him,” he said.
Lateef in his explanation said the two assistants they brought to the game by the referee knew nothing about the rules of the game which led to total biased officiating against FC Ramond International.
“We scored he denied us a very clear goal. He refused to award us a penalty in the last minutes of the game. The two assistants carried the flag without direction and the home team fans were complaining bitterly about the referee. I need to table our grievances to the organizers and look into this matter so that the league would not bring into disrepute,” he said.
Lateef called the organizers to cancel the match and fix another day for a replay. He said if his team was beaten thoroughly without biased officiating, he would congratulate his opponents and accept the result in good faith.
