Ikeja Football Referees Society has emerged the Champion of the 4 Aside Inter-Society Tournament played among the 10 Referees Societies in Lagos State Referees Council.
In the keenly contested finals, Ikeja defeated their Counterparts from Ikorodu Football Referees Society to emerge the overhaul Champion.
While Ikorodu smiled home with the Silver Medal, the Lagos Referees Society won the Bronze Medal.
Just back from Accra Ghana in good time, Gbemisola Yusuf was the captain of the victorious Shonaike Squad.
Other members of the team are Bello Jubril, Akande Abeeb, Anu Ige, Adeyinka Ishau, Adeniyi Idris and Wasiu Bello. The Head Coach was Francis Onuoha while Adeniregun Jimoh was the Assistant Coach.
The Victorious Ikeja team won Shomolu Society in their first game by a lone goal, the same goal margin against Eti Osa Society in the Quarter Finals. LRS dragged the game against the Champion to the penalty shootout before kissing the canvas by 2-1.
The Council Chairman, Engineer Adams Salaudeen thanks the LOC led by Shade Ekun and Olaniyi Toheeb for a job well done.
He appreciated all the participants and promised that next year’s edition shall be bigger and better.
