The Ikeja Divisional League, one of the most influential and notable grassroots league in Lagos and Nigeria has continued to break bounds and establish new frontiers even as it appoints CEO of Dannaz FC, Danny Nazzal and President of YG Football Club, and YG football Agency, Yusuf Garba as its patrons.
In a lengthy interview with Sports247 at his unveiling as a patron of the Ikeja Divisional League, Nazzal shares that footballing talents in the country are not properly catered for which has resulted in many being unutilized.
He said: “The talents, the talents you see going to waste in this country at all levels.
“Looking at these talents and nobody there to invest into them. Even the cooperate organizations are skeptical of coming into football to organize.” he pointed out.
Nazzal called on influential figures to give back to their communities, with that being a way to impact lives positively.
“The best thing to do is give back to your community in a way that you can impact your community.
“When God puts you in a position to be in power or influence, you should be able to give back to your community because that’s the legacy you will leave behind.
“To me, it’s beyond football. It’s shaping the lives of these young boys so that they do not go into drugs or into cybercrimes,” he added.
