IKA North East Ward 2 defeated Ika South Ward 2 to clinch the trophy in the finals of the Sen Okowa Annual Football Tournament at the Agbor Township Stadium.
The finals watched about a full capacity crowd with Hon Chuky Dandy, member of the Delta State House of Assembly representing the Governor of the State Sen Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa ended 2-1 in favour of the IKA North Eastside.
Ebube Chidiere opened scores in the 27th minute after lka South Ward 2 Defence failed to clear their lines and Amuziem Ekele double the lead in the 38th minute with a 20-yard screamer off a corner kick.
Godstime Okoh pulled one back for IKA South Ward 2 just before the break to give his side a glimmer of hope.
The second half was keenly contested with both sides coming close but couldn’t find the much-needed goal.
Emmanuel Emefiele Was shown the red card in the 73rd minute for decent limiting his side to play the rest 17 minutes with 10 men.
IKA North East saw the game out and won the trophy to become the champions of the Governor’s Cup.
Earlier on IKA North East Youth Leaders defeated Ika South Youth leaders 3-0 in the Novelty match before iKa North Ward 4 made it a treble win for the local govt with a 3-0 win on penalties after the 3rd place play offended 1-1 at Full Time.

Trophy and Cash Prize of 1m was awarded to the champions from IKA North East Ward 2 while 500,000 and a trophy was given to the first runners up IKA South Ward 2.
The 3rd place prize of 300,000 was awarded to lka North East Ward 4.
