IHF Challenge Trophy Africa Zone 3: Players To Convey Sport Centre As U-18 Players Camp Commences

The National Women U-18 handball team will begin camping today ahead of the International Handball Federation (IHF) Challenge Trophy Africa Zone 3 held in Accra, Ghana between April 11 and 15.

Coach of the Women U-18 Handball team, Agboola Shittu Adewunmi, said the 30 invited players would converge on Rowe Park Sports Centre, Yaba, Lagos for intensive camping beginning today.

According to a statement by the Handball Federation of Nigeria, the competition will serve as a qualification for the Women’s IHF Trophy Africa Continental held later in the year.

Coach Shittu has expressed the belief that he has been able to get some of the best female handball players for the U-18 category, adding that he would ensure that they get the necessary match and tactical fitness needed for the competition.

Some of them expected in the camp are players mostly those who participated at the National U-12/15 Handball Championship in Sokoto and a few in various handball academies across the country.
