Iheanacho, Ndidi Face Managerial Distraction

Leicester City’s Nigerian duo, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Onyinyen Ndfidi are bound to face distraction on the managerial and technical levels at their club, as their current gaffer, Claude Puel is under pressure for better results.

Sports247.ng learnt that top shots at King Power Stadium are not happy with Puel’s scorecard so far this season, such that Ndidi and Iheanacho are anxiously awaiting the next line of action from the board room.

Ndidi and Iheanacho entered their English Premier League game on Saturday with apprehension, as speculation spread that Puel is fighting for his future at the helm of their club.

Leicester will host Iheanacho’s former club, Manchester City on Boxing Day and they face Cardiff City on December 29, from which it was further gathered that results in those games could determine Puel’s future.

There are claims that Puel’s relationship with players and staff has deteriorated to an all-time low, coupled with issues of selections, style and communication – plus allegations that he has ‘lost everyone’ at King Power Stadium.

Additional reports indicate that The Foxes’ management are already lining up a new man to handle Iheanacho, Ndidi and their teammates, as a high-profile top manager is apparently being targeted as a possible successor.

Brendan Rodgers has previously been discussed and is set to leave Celtic next summer, while Rafael Benitez is another potential candidate from Newcastle.

Deliberations over the Frenchman are said to have been ongoing since the start of the current campaign but were set aside after the helicopter tragedy that claimed the club owner’s life.

However, Leicester’s vice-chairman, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha (Top) will now make the call on Puel after assuming full responsibility following his father’s death in October.
