Manchester United Nigerian prodigy, Odion Ighalo has revealed how he was overwhelmed with Nigerian supporters loyalty and love for him after he joined the club on loan in the January transfer window from the Chinese side, Shanghai Shenhua.
Ighalo allayed how Nigerians supported him saying, “Everybody in Nigeria supports Man Utd because of me because I’m the first Nigerian to play for Man Utd. Some of them sending the message that they are not a fan of United but because of me they are supporting Man Utd”.
“I will make sure I give my blood and sweat for the team and this great coach [Ole] who had the confidence to bring me here and Make sure I pay him back with goals and hopefully trophies by winning games by fighting for the badge”.
Shanghai Shenhua will demand 15m from Manchester United to make Ighalo’s loan deal permanent. The Chinese side will use the instant impact he has made to ramp up the price as a result although United have the option to buy no fee is yet agreed.
