Manchester United deadline-day signing, Odion Ighalo has made substitute appearances against Chelsea and Club Brugge but is yet to start since joining on loan from Shanghai Greenland Shenshua in the Chinese Super League.
The Nigerian, speaking after his side’s 1-1 draw with Club Brugge in the Europa League, said of playing alongside Martial: ‘That is the decision of the coach. ‘My job is just to work hard every day in training and, when called upon to help the team, I do so.I have played in Premier League before, I know what is required”.
‘I know you have to be very strong and physical, get to hold some balls up for your team to push forwards, so I am working towards that. I am getting better and better. We have good players there.
‘Unfortunately, [Marcus] Rashford is injured, he is a good striker, sometimes he played from the side, so we will have to cope with that. I am happy whenever I am called upon to do anything, I am ready to go.’
Ighalo and Manchester will face Watford whom he featured for between 2014-2017, with a total of 90 appearances, 36 goals after 0-2 victory at Stamford Bridge.
