Love Nature Swimming Academy over the last weekend organized one of the finest age-grade swimming competitions at the Lagos Country Club.
Young swimmers from different schools and clubs converged to participate in a competition that presented opportunities for the state and country to select the next band of swimmers even as the coach of the club called for support from the government as the competition was based on passion.
“It makes me feel good that they can identify swimmers from our competition but then we still seek support because this is out of passion and it’s not easy to put this together,” Ifeoluwa told Sports247.
The competition which was only for a day had a variety of age categories from 6 years and under, 7-8 years, 9-11 years, 12-13 years, and 14-16years of male and female separately, competing in freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and medley events.
“If we get more support from a lot of people, then we can do this more than once in a year, the children get the chance to improve and we can identify more swimmers,” Ifeoluwa concluded.
