Ibadan Set To Ignite With Excitement As CCII Launches U-15 Female Football Tournament

The ancient city of Ibadan, renowned as a cradle of football talent in Nigeria, is about to witness a fresh wave of excitement as the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) officially conducted the draws for the highly anticipated Inter-Secondary School Female U-15 Football Tournament.

This landmark event will bring together young female athletes from across eleven Local Government Areas in Ibadan, setting the stage for the next generation of football stars.

The tournament, scheduled to run from February 10th to 25th, 2025, will take place at Wesley College, Elekuro, Ibadan, a venue rich in history and symbolic of the city’s deep-rooted sports culture.

3. Ibadan North East

4. Ibadan North West

5. Egbeda Local Government

6. Lagelu Local Government

7. Oluyole Local Government

8. Ona Ara Local Government

9. Iddo Local Government

In a statement signed by Coach John Kayode Ogunleye (popularly known as Coach John Kay), the Sports Coordinator of CCII, he emphasized the significance of this tournament in nurturing future football champions. “The CCII PG Cup for 2025 U-15 female football teams in Ibadan is not just a competition—it’s a talent pool for the nation. We are setting the ball rolling to raise world-class players for Nigeria and beyond,” he declared.

Adding to the excitement, a member of the Oyo Football Association expressed confidence in the tournament’s potential to spotlight emerging talents. “We are pleased to announce the participating teams, and we look forward to discovering future stars who will represent Nigeria on global stages,” he said.
