Maduagwu Ikenna, President of Island Allstars Club at the ongoing IASC Unity Cup has said that the tournament is living up to expectations as he applauds the sponsorship partnership of Providus Bank while also enjoining corporate bodies partnership.
The tournament which recorded entertaining matches on Match Day three has so far lived up to billing, “the first round has been very explicit, entertaining and highly competitive the way we anticipated, two teams are level on five points, if you ask me, the competition is still very open. Very interesting, very entertaining and has not fallen short of expectations,” the President posited.
Talking about the sponsorship deal coming after the first week of the league, the president explained that that goes to show that Island Allstars is being profiled the way they desired.
“I remembered that you asked us after the election about the sponsorship and I told you that it’s our desire to sell this club to the cooperate, we are very happy and we cannot thank Providus Bank enough.”
“Even for finding it worthy to sponsor this tournament, that partnership is one that we know and believed will be mutually beneficial. Of course as a club, we have well over 350 going to 500 members with all doing well, so it’s going to be a symbiotic relationship, we are happy although we are still approaching more cooperate as we progress.”
“Island Allstars is about setting examples the things should be done” – this is in reference to having the games streamlined live since it began. You can see that our election was the first in Nigeria where diaspora votes counted effectively, once again, we have gone beyond what the National League committee cannot sustain even if it’s to steam the star matches live.”
“So hopefully by next year, maybe we will be on DSTV. All of these things are made possible because the club works very well at reconciling parties immediately after the election as promised, come to the anniversary and you will see the unity and oneness in our association, love, equity and fairness,” he confidently stated.
