Super Falcons captain, Onome Ebi who suffered a gruesome Injury in the nervy semi-final clash against Morroco has revealed that she will be back stronger and better but will miss out on the third place game against Zambia.
Ebi joins Asisat Oshoala on the sidelines after the FC Barcelona Femeni forward suffered a tibia injury in the opening game of the WAFCON tournament against South Africa and has since returned to Spain for recovery.
Ebi disclosed, “I’m out due to a hamstring injury (biceps femoris muscle tear – Grade 2) and could require between six weeks to two months to recover.”
“I suffered the injury in the grueling semi final battle against Morocco on Monday that we lost in a penalty shootout in Rabat. I will be back,” she positively remarked.
Nigeria will be without their experienced defender and captain when they take on Zambia for the third place games.
