In a game where Valiant FC ran out as 3-2 winners over Iganmu FC, Lookman Ibrahim starred for Valiant as his brace kept him in the race for the golden boot as the striker declares he wants to score about twenty goals despite scoring thirteen at the moment.
“The brace makes me happy. I’ve worked hard for it as we’re taught how to score in training and I need to score more goals in the tournament as thirteen goals is not enough. I need to score like twenty goals in the tournament and with hard work I know I’ll do it,” Ibrahim said.
Valiant FC remains fifth on the league table with 18points from eleven games but has failed to move up because the teams ahead of them won, however, Lookman Ibrahim says he wants to help his team win the title.
“It’s my target, we’re really working hard to get back to the top. At first, we were on top, now we’re 5th, so we’re really working hard, with teamwork to get back to the top,” Lookman said.
He explained his side played well today and will continue to put it this kind of performance while also thrashing stories of problems in the Valiant camp as he called them ‘rumors but focuses on his target for himself.
“I’m hoping that from this tournament I’ll cross over. I hope to play in Europe, Spain, Germany but not Azerbaijan. I’m putting my best to be in places like those top leagues and I hope that after this tournament, I’ll move there. I can’t say if it will be Europe straight of Nigerian, League but I want to play in Europe too,” the striker said.
