Retired Nigerian Veteran basketballer, Olumide Oyedeji has revealed he turned down several luxurious offers to come back to Nigeria and give back to the country that moulded him.
In a recent online interview, the former NBA player affirmed that he has no regret in coming back home, “I will do it over and over again, I was determined to come back home and spread the knowledge acquired, connections made to impact the game”.
“I had an offer of 250k salary as a starting point, but I will never know peace if I had accepted that offer because I am more needed here, this is where I belong”.I love the money, but to me, money is not everything as I give glory to God, am blessed”, Olumide explained.
It will be noteworthy to recall that the journey, business-minded basketball player played Profesional basketball for 20 years before calling it to quit, he represented three teams in NBA: Seattle, Orlando and Atlanta including other 18 teams in 16 countries with a total of 21 teams, 17 countries.
