Chukwuemeka Obioma, Enyimba International striker is still relishing the title triumph alongside winning his first-ever golden boot award in a season where he had no place in the team at the beginning of the campaign.
The lethal striker, Chukwuemeka resurgence is one that people should be inspired by, not only spearheading Finidi George’s attack, he was also captain instead of first-choice skipper, John Noble as they won their ninth NPFL title.
“I feel happy, I feel fulfilled and grateful to God, I didn’t see this moment coming, a league winner and also the golden boot winner, words can’t even express this if I look back at the journey and how it all started for me,” Obioma expressed in an exclusive interview with Sports247.ng.
“The target at the beginning of the season was to fight for the trophy, the core goal in sight and we are glad that we were able to achieve the objective in the long run.”
“The continental games are on a different level but I know that we are going to go out there, do our best to make the country proud,” he vowed.
“Now, we have to continue on this great stride of momentum going into the new season, the team will keep working hard, as we don’t have to drop our level. We want to replicate the successes of our heroes past in Enyimba by winning the CAF Champions League.”
