The World U20 Athletics Championships is set to hold in Cali, Columbia in August as different countries get set, including Nigeria, who have released their athletes rooster.
Edun Feyishara, made the cut of athletes to represent Nigeria at the event which she says making the list was so difficult after spotting her talent from secondary school days.
“I knew I could run and become an athlete during my high school days when we do go fir invitational relay, where I met some top athletes that encouraged me,” Feyi told Sports247.
On making the team she said, “It hasn’t been easy. It’s very hard and requires a lot of attention, dedication and hard work.”
The athlete also declared herself ‘80% ready’ for the U20 World Athletics championships next month as she looks to get a podium finish and break her PB of 1:00.74s in 400mH, 57.25s in 400m and 25.44s in 200m.
“At the moment, I’m 80% ready and my goal is to break my personal record and would also be glad if my efforts takes me to the podium. I see myself bigger than my imagination, even out of this country and making name for myself,” Feyi said.
“My training routine is okay. At the moment, i’m on conditioning(Speed,Strength and Endurance),” she concluded.
