Zaidu Sanusi has committed his long-term future to FC Porto by agreeing to a new contract which keeps him at the Portuguese club until June 2027, reports Sports247.ng.
The initial deal Sanusi signed when he joined Porto from Santa Clara in June 2020 was for five years until 2025, but the left-back has now signed an improved contract for two more years.
The 25-year-old told the club’s official website: “I am very happy to have renewed my contract with FC Porto until 2027. It is very important for me.”
Sanusi scored for Porto in the Champions League against Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday in a 2-0 win. The Nigerian international hopes to score more goals and celebrate more victories at the club.
“It was a very important goal for me, for the club, for the President and it made me very happy. I am even more fulfilled for having renewed today. I hope to score many more goals and celebrate even more victories here,” he concluded.
Sanusi has made 91 appearances for Porto since joining, scoring six times and assisting once. He has won one Portuguese Primeira Liga, one Portuguese League Cup, and two Portuguese Super Cups with the Dragões.
