“I Had To Save Money To Buy Ny First Football Boot Myself,” 17 Years Old Kogi Based Footballer, Adamolekun Paul

The Great Olympic Football Academy scouting program has since brought to light huge talents embedded in Nigeria and one of them is Adamolekun Paul, who had to travel all the way to Lagos from North Central, Kogi State, just to prove himself.

Paul played several positions during the scouting program and made it to the last day where he revealed to Sports247 how challenging it has been, including buying his first soccer boots himself as his parents didn’t support it then.

“I’m very grateful to have had a fine game all through the scouting program,” Paul told Sports247.

“My target as a grassroot player is to soon become a professional player in Europe. I love to assist my teammates, giving them the ball the way they want it and I’m very versatile in my ability to play various positions,” he added.

“I bought my first boot myself. I had to save money to buy it as I didn’t use boots till secondary school as my parents didn’t allow me play football,” he concluded.

The youngster revealed his love and interest in Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes, as his role model and a player he admires.
