In an interview with Sports 247, Victory expressed his delight at the win: “I think it’s a great one. We tried, we pushed, we applied ourselves. I think it’s a great one.”
Reflecting on the match and the significance of the Cup, Victory highlighted the team’s determination.
“Coming into this game, my mind was set on winning the trophy because I’ve not won it before. I think I’ve played for two seasons and we lost in the final against Dino FC, then to Gbagada in the semi-final, and again in the final to Imperial FC.
This was the fourth attempt, and it was time for us to apply ourselves. We were told in the camp to push ourselves, and if we did, we would win it. And I think everything worked out well.”
Despite the positive outcome, Iboro experienced a moment of doubt when he missed a crucial penalty.
“When I missed that penalty, I got confused. I didn’t even know where to go, whether to turn back or go forward. But I think that’s football. It happens,” he said.
He also pondered the potential consequences if the team hadn’t won. “I think everybody would have been silent, sad, and they would have blamed me. But I thank God. He answered our prayers.
Despite everything that happened on the pitch, he brought us back to the game and gave us the trophy. Because he knows that this is our time to win the trophy.”
Victory’s comments reflect both the relief and joy felt by Beyond Limits FA as they finally secured the elusive Creative Championship Cup.
Their resilience and determination paid off, culminating in a hard-fought victory that solidified their status as a powerhouse in Nigerian youth football.
Beyond Limits FA’s path to victory saw them leading 2-1 before Sporting Lagos equalized, forcing the match into a penalty shootout where Beyond Limits ultimately triumphed.
The team now looks forward to future challenges with renewed confidence and ambition.
