Goalscorer and Captain of the day for Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC) has said he is a proud lad scoring on his debut for the senior side and also leading the team to victory in the absence of club’s captain, Saheed Lasisi.
Nduka Junior scored the only goal against Lamray United FC in the 58th minute after he latched on to a superb cross from Ismail Sodiq in match day one of the 2019/20 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
Speaking with RSFC Press, Nduka says he feel pleased because it is a great day for him making his debut for the senior side and also scoring the needed goal to lift his team.
“I am pleased and happy, I must say this is a good moment for me. It is my proud moment scoring on my debut for the senior side and also leading the team to victory.”
“At this moment, I have to appreciate my coach (Daniel Ogunmodede) for the faith he has in me. I have worked with him for a while now and I know his commitment and hard work towards achieving success in every game he goes into.
“I must also appreciate my teammates because without them, I won’t lead anybody. I appreciate their drive on the field, we fought for this victory together and I must use this opportunity to dedicate the goal to every member of the squad, thank you all.”
“I wore Jersey 25, that was Victor Mbaoma’s number while he was here, he is a great player. He scored brilliant goals for us and I hope to emulate him despite the fact that I am a defender, Mathias Ogwuche also wore this number during our previous games in the NNL, he scored good goals also and I hope I maintain the greatness that comes with this Jersey number for Remo Stars.” Nduka Junior.
