I am proud of KIFA – Kanu

Nigeria and Africa’s largest and fastest-growing football academy, KIFA, last Sunday in Owerri, held a special National Executive meeting to deliberate on ways forward and how to consolidate on its fortunes.

The Director-General of KIFA, Prince Dapo Ajibade led the executive members including the 6 zonal coordinators, as well as, the regional directors to the meeting which was hosted by legendary Nigeria and Africa soccer star Nwankwo Kanu.

Speaking with Kifamedia, Prince Ajibade expressed his gratitude to God for granting all the executive members who came from different parts of the country, journey mercies to the event. He was also quick to recall the modest but historic strides achieved so far by KIFA.

” KIFA is a divine project. And in a little over a year, we have made astronomical strides. Today, KIFA is deeply rooted in the 36 states of Nigeria, as well as, the FCT, and with over 100 scouting and developmental centres, and at no cost to the over 2,500 footballers.

” All these achievements would not have been possible without the help of God. And of course, individual member’s funding at each centre. The journey so far has been financially tasking, but thanks to the resilience and uncommon commitment and passion of each individual member of KIFA,” he remarked gleefully.

The zonal coordinators who took turns to give progress reports on their respective zones reeled out impressive scorecards. While highlighting some of the challenges, they, however, maintained their unalloyed commitments towards ensuring that KIFA achieves its set goals.

Responding to the remarks, Kanu expressed his happiness and appreciation to all the members of KIFA, particularly, the exco members who took time off their various schedules to attend the meeting. According to the former Ajax Amsterdam and Inter Milan Star, he is very happy with the evolution of KIFA, which he also described as a football revolution.

” I must confess that I am very proud of KIFA. As a matter of fact, I have been receiving words of encouragement and commendations from football enthusiasts and stakeholders in Nigeria and other parts of the world.

” Permit me to thank and appreciate the efforts of the Director-General, the regional directors, zonal coordinators, state coordinators, centre coordinators, coaches and all the people involved in this project. I believe KIFA, has the potentials to produce greater footballers that would eventually make the world proud,” the former African player of the year, enthused.
