Remo Stars head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede has stated that he is not surprised with the invitation of his exceptional forward, Abraham Macous to the National team.
Abraham Marcus is among the listed players invited by Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, along with his technical crew, to execute the June-friendly game between the Super Eagles of Nigerian and the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.
Speaking with Sports247 when being asked about his view on Macous’ call up to the Super Eagles, Ogunmodede commended the efforts of the bright forward, stating that he wasn’t surprised at his invitation to the National team, but how early he was being called up.
‘Marcus is amazing and a very talented player and I knew he will get there (invited to the Super Eagles squad) someday because I know what he can do’.
‘The joy of every coach and every developmental manager is to see their players being called to the highest rank of the country’s football team. Marcus was not invited to the U17, U19, U23, but to the Super Eagles. I am not surprised at all by his invitation, because I know his potentials. I am only surprised at the timing of the invitation, that it came very early because he is just 21 years of age’, he emphasized.
Abraham Marcus will hope to make good use of his opportunity in Gernot Rohr’s team, when the Super Eagles square up against Cameroon in a friendly match in June, as they prepare for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
