Vanung University took a flying start on their Quest for Promotion into the elite division of the University Basketball Association (UBA) League with Two Century Scores Victories as the Second round got underway on Friday 5th March.
Nigeria Born Gabriel Humphery inspired the Lions to a 104-61 win against Chengchong University scoring 16 points 8 Rebounds and 5 Assists.

Hai Se Long Ren and Yap Zhi Wei points inside the paints kept the Lions out of sight before halftime.
Coach Ben Sim’s deployed Humphery Gabriel and Jay tactfully and the duo, combinations proved too much for Chengchong. While Gabe’s was winning most of Defensive and Offensive Rebounds Jay’s Ball Distribution was outstanding as the Lion cruised to a 101-61 win.
On Saturday, Vanung University took Jingguo to the cleaners with another century Scores winning 110-54 to maintain their 100% record in the Second Round.
Humphery Gabriel and Jay Bonding were spectacular right from the tip-off as the duo took the game to Jingguo.
Despite Coach Ben Sim resting the duo after opening up a 19-3 Score in the First Quarter Humphery dropped 21 points with Jay’s 18 points left Jingguo hapless.
Wang Xin Wei and Zhang Wei Lun were also impressive in their ball-handling and outside shooting to set the Lions as Favorites to Top the Group in their pursuit to qualifications into the 3rd Round.
“We just need to play simple, normal, not too high, not too low, that way we hope to win every game this round” Vanung’s Talisman Humphery Gabriel said.
Vanung rested on Sunday and will return to the court on Monday 8th March for the third game in the series.
