Iyaloja General United Football Club, IGU have recorded another home win after defeating Leyenda FC 5-3 recently in the ongoing Alimosho Football Coaches Council League.
The pulsating tie was held recently at Igando football playground, Alimosho. With this victory, IGU have won their two home matches consecutively following a 3-1 victory over Bucknor FC recently.
IGU Coach, Mohammed Abarejo has commended the team’s spirit saying that IGU is a formidable team in the league. He is optimistic that his team would qualify for Super four at the end of the league.
“We are targeting super four at the end of the league. My boys played good football in their last two matches. This is to tell you that we can go all the way to be among the top four teams and possibly win the league,” he said.
In a related development, NISSI hammered Kedge Sports 4-1 in their home ground. NISSI who started averagely at the beginning of the league were delighted to watch when they whitewashed their opponents at Ejigbo center.
Meanwhile chairman organizing committee, Samuel Uchenna Eke has officially announced the league would be on break starting from the second week of November and resume back on 23, November 2021.
Speaking with our correspondent, Eke urged the participating teams to use this period to look for players of their choice and register them ahead of the second stanza of the league.
“The league is presently on break. Transfer windows are open for all the teams. I expect the club owners to shop for good players and register them. This is our league and we are giving all the teams’ level playground to register new players before we resume back by ending of November,” he said.
