Honorable Ekene Abubakar Adams, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Sports, has voiced his commitment to advancing Nigerian sports by implementing impactful policies and bills.

Representing the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency in Kaduna State, Hon. Ekene Adams discussed the committee’s determination to address challenges and drive progress within the sports sector.
In an interview with Arise TV, Hon. Ekene Adams shared his vision for elevating Nigerian sports to new heights.
He emphasized the significance of his role as the Chairman of the House Committee on Sports, highlighting the unprecedented opportunity to foster positive change.
“We, as my committee and I, have no room for failure in this assignment. For the first time in Nigerian sports history, one of its own has assumed the position of Chairman of the House Committee on Sports,” Hon. Adams stated.
He underscored the importance of collaboration among sports stakeholders to propel the sector forward. Hon. Adams emphasized the need to revisit strategies, engage key players, and restore credibility to private entities and investors in order to avoid stagnation.
To initiate their mission, the House Committee will initiate a peace parley with the Nigeria Football Federation, demonstrating their commitment to constructive dialogue.
Additionally, Hon. Adams reassured that the Committee’s focus includes passing critical bills that did not progress in the 9th Assembly.
“I am confident that numerous bills have been presented by lawmakers, driven by the efforts of the 9th Assembly. Notably, pending implementation from the 10th Assembly are the Sports Commission and Sports University bills,” Hon. Adams remarked.
