The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government council Chief Hon Godwin Adode is expected to on Monday August 30 play host to players and officials of Excellent football club of Ughelli ahead of their departure to Côte d’Ivoire where they will feature in the 2021 edition of the Tournoi International de Football Koumassi TIK-K tournament.
The event which is scheduled to hold at the Ughelli North Local Government Council secretariat will provide an opportunity for the sports loving LGA Chairman to meet and interact with the players and officials of the team who will be ambassadors of the LGA, Delta State and Nigeria.
According to the CEO of Excellent FC, Mr Onome James, “we are very happy that our amiable Chairman Chief Hon Godwin Adode has in his wisdom thought it needful to host us before we depart for Côte d’Ivoire. This will definitely be great motivation for the team and it will go further to show that supporting sports is a top priority of the administration under the leadership of Chief Hon Adode”.
Onome, also confirmed that the team will depart Nigeria for Côte d’Ivoire on Tuesday 31st August, 2021 and will open their campaign on September 4 against Centre de formation Cisse Mohamed Lamine (CF CML) Diambars Abidjan in what promises to be an explosive tournament opener.
