The 80th Anniversary celebration of Holy Child College Ikoyi South West reached a vibrant climax on February 14, 2025, with the final of the Inter-House Sports competition drawing an enthusiastic crowd of parents and distinguished guests.
The event was especially notable as it marked the first time the students participated in a wide array of sports managed by the Saran-Ify Sports Academy.

Throughout the competition, students showcased their talents in basketball, taekwondo, football, high jump, and tug of war. The sporting activities, which commenced on February 4th and continued through the 5th and 6th, culminated in a fiercely contested final.
Cornelia House emerged triumphant, finishing in first place, while Fidelis House secured second, and Marcella House rounded out the podium in third place.
Reverend Sister Christiana Olagunju SHCJ, a former sportsperson and the school’s administrator, expressed her pride in the event:
“We are incredibly proud to see our students step up and embrace these challenges. This celebration is not just about marking 80 years of excellence but also about instilling values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.
The partnership with Saran-Ify Sports Academy has enriched our sporting programs, and the energy on the field today truly reflects the legacy of our institution.”
Lady Saran Ifeoma Oguike, CEO of Saran-Ify Sports Academy, also shared her thoughts on the initiative:
“Our goal at Saran-Ify is to nurture talent from the grassroots by introducing a wide range of sporting activities. Today’s event is a testament to what can be achieved when passion meets opportunity.
We are committed to providing a platform where young athletes can develop both their physical and mental strength, and we hope this marks the beginning of many such initiatives that will empower the future of Nigerian sports.”
