The President of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN), Mr. Samuel Ocheho, has expressed great satisfaction with the successful completion of the International Handball Federation (IHF) License C Coaching Course, which concluded in Abuja on March 22, 2025.
The intensive program, held from March 15 to 22, 2025, was organized by the IHF and the Confederation of African Handball (CAHB) in partnership with the Handball Federation of Nigeria. The course gathered both aspiring and experienced coaches from Nigeria and beyond, equipping them with advanced knowledge and technical expertise in handball coaching.

Leading the training was renowned IHF instructor Dr. Zoltan Marczinka from Hungary, supported by CAHB representative Mr. Kelvin Konan from Côte d’Ivoire. Nigeria’s own Michael Tangahaar also served as a local instructor, ensuring a seamless and impactful learning experience for all participants.
Speaking on the successful conclusion of the program, Mr. Ocheho commended the collaborative efforts of the IHF and CAHB in strengthening coaching standards in Nigeria. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in not only enhancing the technical capacity of Nigerian coaches but also fostering the overall development of handball in the country.
“On behalf of the Handball Federation of Nigeria, I commend the IHF and CAHB for partnering with us to host this important course in Nigeria, which has provided our coaches with invaluable knowledge,” Ocheho stated.
“We recognize that this initiative will not only enhance the skills of participating coaches but also contribute to the overall growth of handball in Nigeria, as many of the participants were local coaches,” he added.
Ocheho also extended his gratitude to the instructors, including Dr. Marczinka, Mr. Konan, and Michael Tangahaar, as well as all participants and stakeholders who contributed to the program’s success. He reaffirmed HFN’s commitment to furthering handball development in Nigeria through continuous capacity-building programs and international collaborations.
