The Nigerian duo of Henry Onyekuru and Chidozie Awaziem were both in action in Turkey as Galatasaray fall to a 2-3 defeat against visiting FC Porto in the UEFA Champions League.
Onyekuru who was introduced at the start of second half with Galatasaray trailing 1-2, however no sooner has he been introduced Porto increased their lead when Sergio Oliviera scored the third goal.
Eren Derdiyok made scores 2-3 for his team but the chance to draw Gala level was wasted by Sofiane Feghouli who failed to score what would have been his second successful spot kick of the game.
Awaziem was introduced for his debut in the Europe elite competition with eight minutes left to play in the game which his side hanged on to claim all three points and in the process seal their spot as group leaders with 13 points going into the knock out round of the tournament.
The game was Awaziem’s second game of the season as he has struggled to nail a spot in the starting line up of Porto upon his return from a successful loan spell in France with Nantes.
