Players of Heartland FC Owerri the Naze Millionaires have been assured of a better welfare package and sincere government commitment to the team for their optimal performance this season.
General Manager of the team Chief Chukwudi Ifeanyi stated this while addressing them yesterday after their morning training session at the St Mary’s Minor Seminary playground Omuowa Orlu venue of the team’s preseason camping.
Chief Ifeanyi said he would continue to pursue all that would ensure a better welfare package for the players because it is only what would guarantee they give their best this season.
The GM urged the new players to remain focused particularly in the face of the little delay in the payment of their clearance fees while urging the old ones to exercise patience as plans are underway to offset the arrears of salaries owed them.
Chief Ifeanyi used the forum to intimate them of the state government’s new arrangement to provide the required funds for the team to fully prepare for the new league season.
Responding to the Assistant Captain of the team Ikechukwu Ezenwa commended the General Manager Chief Ifeanyi for his commitment and concern for their welfare and assured him of their readiness to work hard to reciprocate this commitment.
He appealed that the state Governor Senator Hope Uzodinma and other relevant authorities saddled with the responsibility of making the requisite funds available to expedite action as a morale booster and encouragement to the players, adding that time is of the essence if they must achieve the desired goals.
Others who added their voice Uche Oguchi and Chinonso Okoronkwo called for the immediate provision of all that would be needed to get the team ready for the kick-off of the new league season.
Technical Adviser of the team Fidelis Illechukwu assured the GM of their readiness to work towards achieving the set goals but appealed for positive reactions on the side of the Government to ensure the team meets up with the demands ahead.
The General Manager Chief Ifeanyi was accompanied to the visit by the team’s General Coordinator Mr. Promise Nwachukwu and the club’s team manager Victor Ezuruike.
