The Imo State Governor Chief Emeka Ihedioha has told the new Heartland Coach Fidelis Illechukwu to be aware that the challenges ahead are enormous as he must work hard to ensure the Imo darling team take its rightful place in the country’s football circles.
Chief Ihedioha stated this while addressing the Coach who was officially presented to him by the clubs Board and management with the General Manager Chief Chukwudi Ifeanyi pledging he will deliver on the Job.
Governor Ihedioha Congratulated the Coach for his new Job, informing him that there are daunting tasks he must surmount to return Heartland Football Club to its past glory.
He said though the club escaped relegation last season, there is a great expectation that the club must rise up to win laurels for the state.
Chief Ihedioha used the forum to urge the new GM to always remain diligent and patriotic in the discharge of his duties as well as strive to make sure Heartland is outstanding in the new league season.
Earlier the General manager of the club Chief Chukwudi Ifeanyi in an interview said the choice of Coach Fidelis Illechukwu was born out of rigorous scrutiny and deliberate plan because of his track record in Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry (MFM) whom they believed to have what it takes to Improve the clubs performance in the Nigerian Professional Football League, adding that he is optimistic with him the club will secure a continental ticket at the end of the season.
Chief Chukwudi assured that what he is bringing to the table as the new General manager is the success that will return fans of the Imo darling team who stopped watching the clubs matches back to the stadium to once again watch their club play scientific football.
The Naze Millionaires had on resumption a few weeks back retained 21 players out of the 37 they registered last season and there are plans underway to higher few new legs to beef up the team in readiness for the new league season.
