The senior national male and female handball team have both qualified for the All Africa Games in Morocco with emphatic victories in Wednesday in the qualifiers holding in Quagadogou, Bukina Faso, sports247.ng learns
The male national team defeated Benin Republic 35-29 in what looked like a difficult match but Nigeria was able to pull through with the much needed victory.
According to the Media Assistant to HFN President, Cosmos Chukwuemeka Akisi,the women continued from where they left off yesterday as they defeated host, Bukina Faso again with an emphatic 33-26 to pick up a much needed ticket for the All Africa Games.
The President of the Handball Federation of Nigeria Mr. Sam Ocheho has congratulated the teams for making Nigeria proud and showing grit in picking the double qualification tickets.
Ocheho further assured the teams that they will get all the necessary support from the federation so they can be effectively prepared for the All Africa Games.
The Male National team had defeated host Bukina Faso 25-21 while the women team had emphatically defeated the Bukina Faso women team 34-29 I their first games in their quest to get qualification for the All Africa Games which will hold in Morocco later in the year.
