Best Talent FC of Mowe were today qualified for the final of Green Lock Summer Tournament taking place in Ikenne, Ogun State after playing a one all draw against Magic Stars.
Boasting unbeaten run in the tournament wherein the integrity club gathered 7 points in a group that was initially deemed a group of ballers, the Mowe giants pip Star Builders FC in the tournament opener with a goal to nil. The decimation of TCCG FC 5-2 in the second match put them in better stead , only to settle for a one all draw in a keenly contested encounter against Magic Stars FC earlier today.
To the other finalist, Green Lock FC’s path to the final was not without its challenges, as they had to dig deep to secure a tough draw against Right 2 Win FC in their last group game that ended goalless.
As it stands, the battle is going to be between two big coaches, as former Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, Yinka Popoola Gullit will lead Best Talent FC against Coach Bolarinwa whose strategic acumen and his team’s resilience leading Greenlock will be put to test
Coach Idris had led his side’s double 1 – 0 defeat of Ojodu City and Grassrunners FC, howcasing their tactical prowess and determination. The tactician’s ability to incorporate in-game tactical keys has been instrumental in Green Lock FC’s success, and his reputation as one of Nigeria’s fast-rising coaching talents continues to grow.
The third place is between TCCG and Grass Runner FC as both teams emerged Runner up from their groups. While TCCG qualified with 4 points, Grass Runners FC pegged at 6points to make it to the losers’ final
The stage is now set for the much anticipated final clash at Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne as Best Talent FC will put their grid to test against Greenlock FC.
While the third place match comes up at 8am, the final holds at 10 am.
