Head coach of Greater Boys Football Club of Mainland, Buhari Oloto has expressed happiness that his boys emerged the champions of U-20 Kesington Adebutu Cup.
Greater Boys defeated Super Soccer of Mile 2, 1-0 in the final of Adebutu Cup which played recently at the Onikan Stadium,Lagos.
Oloto admitted that both teams played purposeful football but noted that his boys were technically better.
“It was kneely contested game and both teams know each other.Based on my assessment of the game, my players were tactically discplined which really helped us to win the game,”he said.
Greater Boys assistant coach, Lasisi Olayiwola boasted that his team deserved the victory.
He however admitted that their opponents gave them a good fight but insisted Greater Boys were very discplined on the field of play.
Sunshine FC also humbled Glory FC 3-2 on penalty shootout after one goal apiece at the regulation time to emerge as the champions of the female category.
Sunshine coach, Niniola Kolawole said his girls fought like a lion throughout the pulsating tie saying that their opponents really gave them a tough match.
“We were lucky to have won the game through penalties.We created some scoring chances but my girls could not convert their chances.I am happy that we were able to win the penalty shootout,”he said.
The Cup donor, Adebutu thanked the organisers for making this year’s edition a memorable one and congratulated the winners in both categories for their victories.
