Grange School, Ikeja, and St. Saviours, Ikoyi, showcased their swimming prowess as they dominated the Dolphin Swimming League’s award ceremony hosted by Grange School over the weekend.

In an impressive display, Grange School secured the overall winner award in the secondary school category, accumulating a total of 1320 points. Meanwhile, St. Saviours emerged victorious in the primary division, clinching the overall winner title for season four of Nigeria’s esteemed private inter-school swimming league with an impressive tally of 1484 points.
The annual league, organized by Dynapro Sports Promotion and Advanta Interactive, received substantial support from the Lagos State Swimming Association, Nigeria School Sports Federation (NSSF), and the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC).
The award ceremony drew a large and enthusiastic crowd. Aidan Dumuje-Abili of Grange School stood out by claiming the best overall swimmer award for boys. His exceptional performance in the U-11 category led him to secure an astounding 15 gold medals. On the girls’ side, Teniola Akin-Olugbade of St. Saviours was named the recipient of the best overall swimmer award, amassing an impressive 13 gold medals and one silver medal.
Grange School’s dominance extended across multiple age categories, as they swept the awards in U-7, U-8, U-14, and U-16. St. Saviours, on the other hand, excelled in the U-11 category. Children International School (CIS) also had their share of glory, claiming awards in the U-9 and U-11 categories.
Recognizing promising talent, the best newly discovered talent awards were presented to Oghenemarho Mueller of Riverbank School and Osamudiamen Aiwerioghene of Greensprings School.
Grange School and St. Saviours School jointly received the best productive coach awards for secondary and primary schools, acknowledging their exceptional coaching efforts. CIS was lauded as the most organized team in the tournament.
Oluseyi Oyebode, the event coordinator, expressed his satisfaction with the tournament’s outcome. He emphasized the tournament’s role in unearthing talent that could potentially become world-class athletes. Oyebode also highlighted the ceremony’s purpose of inspiring students and motivating teams to strive for greater success in future seasons.
The tournament’s success was largely attributed to the unwavering support of parents, guardians, and the major sponsor, Rite Foods. Oyebode expressed gratitude to Rite Foods and encouraged more sponsors to come forward and support the event, envisioning even greater growth and success for future season
