The governor made this promise during an unscheduled visit to the Dakkada Skills Acquisition Centre (DASAC) in Ikot Ada Idem, Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, where he addressed some of the participating athletes.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to sports development, Governor Eno urged the athletes to seize the opportunity and bring pride to the state.

“We cannot host this event and not win medals. So, for every Gold, Silver, or Bronze medal, there will be a reward. I will personally receive you after the games and reward the winners,” he assured.

He also praised the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for organizing the sports festival, noting that it would enhance sports tourism in the region and provide a platform to discover talents for national and international competitions.

With over 300 athletes set to compete in 17 sports, Akwa Ibom is gearing up for a strong showing at the Niger Delta Games, which will take place from April 1 to 9 across different centers in the state.
