Executive Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State stunned spectators and players alike with a lightning-fast goal in a novelty football match in a thrilling exhibition of football prowess.
The match, held at the Lafia City Stadium, saw Governor Sule lead his team, Nasarawa Northern Zone’s Veterans, against the combined Zones of Nasarawa South and West.

Within the first five minutes of the game, Governor Sule made an indelible mark by dribbling past nearly five players to score a remarkable goal.
His display of skill and agility left the opposition defence scrambling and earned his team an early lead.
Despite being undecided between passing to his teammate, Eche Amos, or going solo, Governor Sule opted for the latter, narrowly missing the intended pass but successfully finding the back of the net himself.
The match saw both teams delivering spirited performances, with Salisu Galadima, Chairman of the Nasarawa State Football Association and Captain of the Southern-Western team, equalizing the scoreline with a well-placed shot past the Northern team’s goalkeeper.
Despite the entertaining display of football, neither side managed to secure a decisive victory, and the match ended in a draw.
However, Governor Sule’s exceptional performance earned him the title of Man-of-the-Match, captivating the audience with his football skills.
Several prominent figures participated in the match, including the Nasarawa State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Jafaru Ango, and other government officials and football enthusiasts.
The event, which served as a post-celebration of a wedding Fatiha, brought together players and spectators to enjoy a friendly game of football while celebrating the union of Coach Usman Shuaibu Enwo and Halima Iliyasu.
