Chairman of Delta Sports Commission, Chief Tonobok Okowa has said it will be fun and entertaining to bring back together retired Nigeria International Superstars to the Stephen Keshi stadium Asaba, to mark the 100th day in office of the newly elected Governor of Delta State, Rt. Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori.
Tonobok said this will gladden the heart of many football followers as they crave to see the soccer Superstars they only see on Television.
He said the likes of the master dribbler, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, Victor Ikpeba, Kanu Nwankwo, Christian Obodo, Sam Sodje, Mikel Obi, and other great players that have served the Nation in the highest level of football will be there.
He scoped that the number One indigene of Delta state hope to challenge J.J Okocha in the midfield where he like to operate from during his school days.
While Prince Godstime Emiko and Amaju Pinnick hope to pair against Victor Agali and Julius Aghahowa upfront.
Tonobok said the novelty football match that will feature top stars of Delta state extract and friends will be an avenue to entertain guests that will be at the 7th edition of the National Youth Sports Festival in Asaba.
He assured of maximum security as anyone found wanting will face the consequences.
The novelty match will kick off at 3 pm at the Stephen Keshi Stadium on September 8th, 2023, and will be followed by Deltan Legendary Sports Award night in honor of sports personalities.
The event is put together by the Delta State Sports Commission, DSSC, and Delta Youth For More Agenda, DYMA.
