The Olubadan Cup 2020 contest which commenced on a good note, finally came to a glorious end on Sunday with Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan carting home the trophy for the third time, the first club to do so.
The competition ended with a very interesting final game involving the Oluyole Warriors and Ogbomoso United, with the former winning by 2-0.
Apart from the scintillating display by both sides on the pitch, the presence of notable personalities added glamour to the grand finale which was watched by fairly enthusiastic soccer lovers.
Among the dignitaries who graced the final match was the Special Adviser (Sports) to the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, Honourable Oluwatobi Oyewumi, who stood in for the governor.
Also in attendance were the chairman, Oyo State Sports Council, Honourable Gbenga Adewusi Arole, the Secretary, Oyo State Football Association, Mr Kehinde Oyelowo, chairman, Ibadan Football Association (IFA) Barrister Olurotimi Alli and members of his executives, General Manager 3SC Rasheed Balogun and the proprietor of Ogbomoso United, Honourable Akinwole Akinwale Solomon WOLEKANLE, Chief Akin Alade Secretary Ajilete, Mr Sayo Alagbe and others entourage.
Quite a good number of active and retired referees, coaches, players and other stakeholders in the round leather game, also witnessed the final, with famous Sportscaster, Sola Aiyegbajeje, ably assisted by Ikeoluwa Yusuf and upcoming commentator Bashir, anchoring the programme.
