Abia Warriors had a goalless draw against Plateau United after an emphatic victory in their first match at the ongoing Governor Ikpeazu Pre-Season Tournament in Aba, Abia State.
The match experienced so much tactical display by both teams which resulted in series of saves by the Goalkeepers and of course near misses.
The assistant coach, Willy Udube said the Coach Imama Amakapabo tutored team is still a work in progress and that they have been working hard to make sure that all loopholes are corrected before the league starts proper.
“The team is work in progress and we are getting there gradually.”
“We have identified that position has a problem and we are trying to get some new legs to fill up that position.”
The Ochendo Babes played well in the middle of the pack with tactically sound defenders and midfielders but attackers seem not to have the accurate final touches that lead to goals.
“We played against a NPFL side that is technically and tactically disciplined. When you meet such we can call it survival of the fittest and remember they are one of the representatives of Nigeria in CAF Champions League.”
