Governor Diri Mandates Weekly ‘Prosperity Walk’ For Healthier Bayelsa

Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri has announced a new initiative aimed at promoting health and wellness among the state’s residents.

Following his morning fitness routine, Governor Diri issued a directive for Local Government Chairmen to implement a “Weekly Prosperity Walk” in their respective Council Headquarters every Thursday.

The initiative is designed to encourage active lifestyles and foster community spirit across Bayelsa State. Governor Diri emphasized the importance of health in his announcement, stating, “Health indeed is wealth, and this decision is for the overall benefit of our people.”

To ensure the initiative is carried out effectively, Governor Diri has tasked Mr. Tariye Lelei, the Chairman of Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA and head of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) in Bayelsa, with coordinating the effort. Lelei is responsible for communicating the governor’s directive to all Local Government Chairmen in the state.

The Weekly Prosperity Walk is set to take place every Thursday, aiming to boost the physical well-being of Bayelsa residents and strengthen community ties. Governor Diri’s leadership in promoting fitness and wellness reflects his commitment to the health and prosperity of the people of Bayelsa.
