A member of the Civil Liberty Organisation(CLO) in Bayelsa State Mr.David Bekiawariya West has called for the immediate release of largess approved by Governor Seriake Dickson to Bayelsa Queens football Club for winning the 2017/2018 Nigeria Women Premier League, sports247.ng exclusively reports
Mr. West made the call while speaking to our correspondent in Yenagoa said from information at his deposal the money has been withheld by some individuals in government, urging them to do the needful.
Mr. West charged those withholding the promised money to the Restoration Girls to make it available to the players as it does not speak well on the reputation of the Restoration government and appealed to Governor Seriake Dickson to investigate the matter.
Governor Dickson had on the 27th January on his birthday promise the team a sum of Twenty Two million naira for their triumph shortly after making the state proud by winning the NWFL Super Four titles after 12 years in Lagos.
The Governor equally directed the Ministry of transportation to release one Coastal Bus for the team as well as approved a monthly stipend for the Feeder team.
Sports247.ng also scooped that the Athletes that represented Bayelsa state at the just concluded National Sports Festival tag (Abuja 2018) are yet to receive their own money promised by the Governor.
