Governor Amosun hosts UFC Interim Middleweight Champion Adesanya

Nigeria-born Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Interim Middleweight Champion, Israel ‘The Last Stylebender’ Adesanya was hosted by the Ogun State Government , at its Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta office, on Thursday.

 

Adesanya , who defeated America’s Kelvin Gastelum last month at UFC 236 in Atlanta, to clinch the interim middleweight title hails from Odogbolu area of Ogun state.

The New Zealand-based mixed-martial company poster boy was hosted by the State’s Governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun on Thursday as the fighter continues his homecoming.

Adesanya is in Nigeria for the first time in 16 years, since leaving the shore of the country he was 13 years old.

Meanwhile, the Ultimate Fighting Championship has reiterated his commitment to stage a fight in Africa .

Adesanya said in a recent interview with ESPN. “It is already in the works, we’ve been talking about it for a while.

“I have talked to Dana White (current president of UFC )as well when I had my meeting with him. Eventually, we’re going to have a lot of guys.” he said.
