Governor Alia Establishes Forensic Audit Panel to Investigate Lobi Stars’ Finances

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has established a forensic audit panel to investigate Lobi Stars FC’s finances following ongoing complaints of unpaid salaries to players and officials, despite the government’s financial support to the club.

This decision was made public during the governor’s reception of the club’s newly appointed Technical Adviser, Daniel Amokachi, at Government House, Makurdi, on October 9, 2024.

Governor Alia commended Amokachi’s extensive football career and expressed his confidence in the former Super Eagles player to turn around Lobi Stars’ fortunes.

In his response, Amokachi expressed gratitude for the warm reception from the governor and people of Benue, pointing out that the payment of salaries is indeed a crucial factor in driving team performance.

The forensic audit panel is composed of experienced auditors, including Mr. Sam Chir, Mr. Bishop Dzungwe, Mr. Akpusugh Terungwa, and Dr. Gberindyer Abraham Chia.

Their task is to review the club’s financial dealings and determine the reasons behind the salary delays.
